WHO NEEDS A FRESH START?

We have three examples of people who are in desperate situations in life who need a FRESH START!

Interview those who were sentenced to a lifetime imprisonment and have already served more than 10 years. If you ask:
"Do you want a second chance, a clean slate and a new beginning?"
You already know their answer: YES!

Visit the hospital and ask the seriously sick and dying patient:
"Do you want an extension of your life so you can live anew?"
The cry is... YES!

Talk to a man who had an affair and lost everything— his wife, his kids, and his home. Ask him:
"Do you want to start all over again?"
The answer is definitely YES!

WE CERTAINLY NEED A NEW BEGINNING AND A FRESH START

Is this possible?

JESUS SAID:

"With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." (Matthew 19:26 NIV)

GOD HAS HIS PLAN:

"’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’" (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)

BUT SATAN HAS ANOTHER PLAN:

"The thief comes only to STEAL, KILL, AND DESTROY..." John 10:10a (NIV)
 
From the very beginning, Satan wants to STEAL, KILL, AND DESTROY our relationship with God.

BUT THROUGH JESUS, GOD’S PLAN WILL PREVAIL!

"I have come that THEY MAY HAVE LIFE, AND HAVE IT TO THE FULL." (John 10:10b NIV)
 
This is only made possible if you will choose to have a fresh start, believing that God has His plan to save you.

ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS

You may not be the one of the examples we mentioned, but you can just think about these:
 
  1. How would you feel if you're sentenced to life imprisonment?
  1. How would you react if the doctor tells you that you have only 3 days to live?
  1. What will you do if you're about to lose your family because of your own doing?
  1. In hopeless situations, do you believe that God can do a miracle and give you a fresh start? How?

YOU'LL PROBABLY THINK AND BELIEVE THAT YOU DON'T NEED A FRESH START

You may say: “Everything is in order and my life is under control. I don’t need a fresh start!!"
“I am not in a difficult and hopeless situation. I have no need for anything because I am certain of my future.”

THAT'S PARTLY CORRECT FOR NOW, but you are actually in a situation where you are hopeless and desperate.
Everybody dies, and when you die, you will be judged and punished in hell for eternity.
You will ask:
"Why? What have I done wrong?"

HERE ARE SOME WORDS FROM THE BIBLE:

“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” ROMANS 3:23
“For the wages of sin is death.." ROMANS 6:23
“If we say that we never sin, we are only fooling ourselves, and refuse to accept the truth.” 1 John 1:8

ALL OF US ARE SINNERS

👉 We inherited our sinful nature from our first parents - Adam and Eve.
 
👉 It means, you don't have to sin to become a sinner.
 
👉 You are a sinner because it is in your nature.
YOU DON'T NEED TO SIN TO BE A SINNER,

YOU HAVE A SIN PROBLEM

YOUR SIN PROBLEM SEPARATES YOU FROM GOD

God knew the heart of man, that they are bound to commit sins because of their sin nature.
 
The Apostle Paul wrote about these sins that God will judge:
“They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.” Romans 1:29-32

“Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

HERE IS GOD'S VERDICT:

 
The penalty for our sinfulness is death.
"For the wages of sin is death..” (ROMANS 6:23)

BECAUSE OF SIN, WE ARE DESTINED TO GO TO HELL

“And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur... They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. ANYONE WHOSE NAME WAS NOT FOUND WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE WAS THROWN INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE.” (Revelation 20:10, 14, 15)

Without Christ, we are going to die and spend eternity in hell as payment for our sins.

WE ARE DECEIVED TO BELIEVE THAT OUR PUNISHMENT CAN BE PAID BY:

  • Going to church

  • Giving your own life

ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS

  1. Do you know someone who does not sin?
  1. Are you aware of the sin that is in your life now?
  1. Do you agree in what Romans 1:29-32 and 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 say that those who do such things deserve death, and will not inherit the kingdom of God?
  1. If you are given a CHANCE TO CHANGE your hopeless spiritual condition, will you say “YES” to it?
  1. Do you want to know how you can have a FRESH START?

GOD'S WAY IS THE ONLY WAY TO PAY FOR OUR SINS

 
God Himself gave us His Son Jesus, to be the only sacrifice worthy to pay for the sins of humanity.
 
He died at the cross and paid the price for our sins. God's perfect Son fulfilled God's perfect requirement of God's perfect law.
 
Instead of us dying at the cross, He became our substitute.
 
It is perfectly brilliant in its simplicity.
"God made Him (Christ), who knew no sin, to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)
 
Because of what He did, we can have a fresh start!

HOW TO HAVE A FRESH START

HOW DO WE CHANGE OUR HOPELESS SPIRITUAL STANDING BEFORE GOD?

 
We need to get rid of the sin problem, the Bible introduced a way to do it— thet is - to be born again.
 
Jesus said,
“Unless a man is born again he will not see the Kingdom of God." (John 3:3)
 
It is an act of God to "transform" us, it is to be "born from above,” and to have a "spiritual rebirth."

Like a baby who is born
with no past,
no sin,
no shame,
no condemnation
and nothing to be accountable for,
so is a person who is born again.

WHY DOES A PERSON NEED TO BE BORN AGAIN?

 
Since we are born with sinful nature, we are dead to sin.
 
It means, “WE ARE DISCONNECTED FROM A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.”
 
The apostle Paul in Ephesians 2:1 says,
"And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins." (Ephesians 2:1)
 
Sinners are “SPIRITUALLY DEAD"; When they receive spiritual life through faith in Christ, the Bible likens it to a “REBIRTH." You become spiritually connected and alive in Christ!
 
Only those who are born again have their sins forgiven

and have a relationship with God.
There is no other way but to be born again!

HOW CAN I BE BORN AGAIN?

THE GOOD NEWS: GOD PROVIDED THE WAY!

 
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS TRUST IN THE SAVING WORK OF JESUS.

 
“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
 
Ephesians 2:8-9 states,
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast."
 
We are not saved because of what we do.
We can't earn our salvation. There's no way that we can pay for our sins.
Only Jesus can save us by his death on the cross.
 
Jesus said,
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I TRUST JESUS AS MY SAVIOR?

 
When one is born again, he/she is saved, spiritually renewed, and is now a child of God by right of new birth.
 
Trusting in Jesus Christ, the One who paid the penalty of sin when He died on the cross, is the means to be "born again."

  • You Will Be Called A Child of God
  • And Will Surely Go to Heaven

ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS

 
  1. Do you believe that your spiritual life is the most important part of your being? Why?
  1. Do you know of other ways to save yourself so you can go to heaven?
  1. If Jesus is THE ONLY ONE who paid for our sins, how did He do it?

NOW IS YOUR TIME FOR A FRESH START!

 
If you have never trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, will you consider the prompting of the Holy Spirit as He speaks to your heart? JESUS SAID, "YOU NEED TO BE BORN AGAIN.“
 
If you want to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and be born again, here is a sample prayer. Remember, saying this prayer or any other prayer will not save you.

IT IS ONLY IN TRUSTING JESUS CHRIST THAT CAN SAVE YOU FROM SIN AND HELL.

 
This prayer is simply a way to express to God your faith in Him and thank Him for the gift of salvation. HE WILL LISTEN TO YOUR PRAYERS AND ACCEPT YOU.
 
Will you pray the prayer of acceptance and become a new creation in Christ today?
 
"Dear Father in Heaven, I know that I have sinned against you and I deserve to be punished. But Jesus Christ took the punishment that I deserve so that through faith in Him I could be forgiven. I place my trust in You for my salvation. Thank You for Your wonderful grace and forgiveness - the gift of eternal life! Write my name in the Book of Life. Take control of the throne of my heart and make me the kind of person You want me to be. Amen!"
 
"Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God, children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God". John 1:12-13.
 
YOU ARE NOW A CHILD OF GOD, A CHRISTIAN AND BORN INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD!

  1. LIKE A DYING PATIENT WHO GOT HEALED... (I'm healed! I found the cure!) Will you not tell the other dying people about the cure you have discovered? Jesus said, "I am your Healer.'
  1. LIKE A MAN WHO FOUND THE WAY OUT OF THE TRAP... (Here is the way out!) Will you not shout to the rest who are trapped how to get out? Jesus said, "I am the way"
  1. LIKE A THIRSTY MAN IN THE DESERT WHO HAS DISCOVERED A WELL... (I found the source of water!) Will you not tell the others who are thirsty and perishing where you found it? Jesus said, "I am the Living Water...”
  1. LIKE AN ADULTEROUS WOMAN WHO WAS FORGIVEN... (I am an outcast and ready to be stoned to death... But Jesus, defended me.) Will you not call upon offenders and tell them about the One who can defend them? Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.

REACH OUT AND TELL THEM WHAT YOU HAVE FOUND!

Will you return the favor to God for all His goodness?
All you have to do is SHARE what you have experienced and received from Him.
The greatest gift you can give to anyone is to make them COME TO JESUS.
WHY? Because they too, DESERVE A FRESH START.
